On our school trip we went to the saatchi gallery and these were some of the photos i took that i really liked one thing that really caught my eye when visiting the saatchi gallery is all the different unique artists and how all of their photos has a bit of them in it when visiting the saatchi gallery a man came up to me and was talking to me about our personal experiments that we just started doing and he started giving me advice and some ideas i could do which really influenced my personal project as i started to want to look at taking photos of my community and people around me.
My commmunity
Here are some photos I took of my family friends and religion which i am really personal about so taking these photos around them made me feel slightly uncomfortable at the start as i have never done these before but as i started taking my photos and started liking the outcome i started to actually find joy in what i was doing which led me to come out of my comfort zone and start taking my photos overall i really enjoyed doing this as it kind of gave me an outside perspective of my life really.

While visiting my family in Kenya during the summer holidays i decided to take more photos of my family and places around me still experimenting on what i really wanted to do this also was a very difficult start but once i got the hang of it and started taking photos comfortably in public i started to really enjoy the task however i do feel like next time i do visit Kenya or take photos of my community i will need to take photos of other things such as traditional food and traditional things we do.

On Friday evening I decided to visit the photographers galley to look at some of the exhibitions going on at the time mainly to look at the artists i have been researching in class Johnny Pitt and Evelyn hoofer both artists work was extraordinary but the artist that mainly blew me away was Johnny pitt whose work was quite similar to what i am doing in lesson right now which is too take photos of our personal life one thing that i really liked about his work is how he showed his neighbourhood and his environment how it is and didn't try to sugar coat it or make it seem more fancy or better which is something i tend to struggle with is trying to make my work look better but he seemed confident with his work and his area . His work consisted of photos of his environment people in his area etc. Overall i really enjoyed going to the exhibition and would definitely go again to explore new ideas
Diptics and Triptychs.
Triptyches part 1 |
triptychs part 2 |
I chose this triptych as my favourite one as all three photos all have bright colours that stand out and they all have lines that are the centre of attention. And how in the first triptych there is a lot of things going on in the photo on the left and right whereas in the middle photo the subject is clear. However I also put the three photos in different patterns and for this triptych one of the main things that stand out is how on the right and left the lines are both going vertical therefore drawing attention to the middle photo .

During our photography lesson we were told to use our photos we took during summer to make some diptics and tryptics this was very interesting to do as we got to pick our favourite ones. There was many different choices however we had to narrow it down to only one diptics and one tryptic which are right above. This was very difficult to do coming from someone who is very indecisive . Overall I think it was a really interesting as i got to really see how the photos change their meaning once you switch them around and how you can interpret them in different ways.
my community
Here are some photos I took off my friends as i asked them to pose for me whilst in school this was very refreshing as i was able to show my culture whilst in a school environment next
